Landing at UCO in 2021 was like hitting the creative jackpot. Here, I've been given the reins, and the only limit is the sky (and occasionally, brand guidelines). It's not every day you find yourself becoming an indispensable wizard of design, but at UCO, magic happens. Acting as an Art Director of sorts for every event I touch, I've learned to collaborate with entities of all kinds: the Dean of The College of Fine Arts & Design, the University Brand Communications Office, and a lineup of department directors who know their stuff.

Just as the College of Fine Arts & Design aims to instill in its students, my designs are crafted to dance, sing, and captivate. And it's all thanks to the rare freedom I've been granted here, turning the usual "could we?" into the much more exciting "how far can we go?" It's a collaboration extravaganza, where creativity meets strategy, and the results? Well, they're as eye-catching as they are effective.

Recently, I've worked to shift the Marketing and Communications office away from static imagery and poster design since, let's face it, motion graphics are quickly becoming the future of advertisement. Through the past year, I've been implementing simple motion graphic animations into our various social media stories and advertising digital screens across campus. The results? Well, we have found empirical evidence of a rise in not only social media engagements (from 700 engagements to now over 1,000 per post), but also a rise in just how many butts are in seats for the performance, regularly selling out our on campus venue, Mitchell Hall Theatre, and downtown venue, UCO Jazz Lab– numbers the surpass pre-COVID levels! It's not just about pixels dancing on screens; it's about real-life seats filled, and that's a success story worth celebrating!
